Course overview
Students are divided into groups; each group does a research on a topic under the guidance of the teacher in charge. Content of topics related to web design, human-computer interaction, multimedia design and so on.
Participants in piloting
This is an obligatory course conducted to undergraduate students from the Department of Information System, Faculty of Information Technology, Hanoi university. There were about 17 students enrolled in Semester 1, 2019/2020 session. All of them were 2nd year students

Use of ALIEN services and tools
In the tutorial part of the course, students work in group to solve exercises given by teachers. All activities related to the exercises are design based on PBL. Students are provided appropriate topics to work on, assisted in identifying and accessing the materials and equipment to do research, receive necessary feedback and support from the teachers during the researching process. Moreover, the teachers evaluate students’ participation and, with the goal of helping them develop their problem-solving as well as their writing skills. For example, the students are asked to explore information from media or books in order obtain information for the literature review.
In Special Subject 01 classroom, the teacher guides, keeps students on track, and support students’ initiatives, rather than presents, directs, or gives easy solutions.
