PBL in Data Communication and Networking course, UBB

Course overview

The purpose of this course is showing the students about strategies to manage the data communication and the network. Overall, students will understand about the basic of computer network (Peer to Peer Network) and other important component of network, as well as students can find effective solutions to solve network problem.

Participants in piloting 

A total of 35 students enrolled in the course in the 1st and 2nd semester of the 2019 – 2020 academic year, from September 2019 to June 2020.

Use of ALIEN services and tools

The objective of the activities is to understand and be able to manage computer network security.

  • Teacher gives introduction to the problem, and asks some questions to raise awareness of the problems.
  • Teachers provides all necessary resources for student to research and learn, such as operating system, software, internet connection and eBook.
  • Teacher provide assignments for students to do research and set up group discussion about the problems.
  • Shall any student have questions, he or she will rise the questions, so that teacher can explain the answer as the whole class.
  • Teacher checks result whether they can reach the expected outcome or not. If any problem, teacher can correct and make them do it again.
  • By the end of each class, teacher summaries the all the task again, and do a wrap up of the objectives.
